SNAKES IN THE TOILET AND HOW TO AVOID THEM
In recent weeks, you may have come across reports about people finding snakes in their toilet bowls. These occurrences have raised cause for alarm and spiked fear in many. How do snakes get in the toilet in the first place? And why?
I think we can all agree that the weather has been especially hot and humid this time of year. So, snakes may creep in searching for water and a cooler temperature.
They could also get in through pipes and sewage chambers while looking for food. Sewages are a common hiding ground for rats. They can effortlessly move through a sewage system, get a quick snack on the way and eventually end up in the nice cosy toilet bowl.
Here are a few ways to keep snakes away from your toilets and household:
- Inspect your home and surroundings thoroughly and keep it neat.
- Fumigate regularly to get rid of rodents and other pests that may attract snakes into the home.
- Check for open pipes and/or sewage chambers and seal them tightly
- I know this all sounds like something out of a nightmare but fear not! The chances of a snake finding its way into your toilet are pretty slim.
However, the heat can make snakes come out more frequently. If you put preventive measures in place, you have nothing to worry about. Stay safe!
